Imam Jalal al-Deen Abd al-Rahman bin Abi Bakr al-Sayuti was an incredibly prolific scholar. He wrote works in almost every field of the Islamic sciences. Sadly, such copious output is often to the detriment of accuracy (Tahqeeq).
Therefore, Imam al-Sayuti can be viewed as an encompassing scholar (Jami), more than a scholar of Tahqeeq. The Imam passed away in 911 Hijri.
