Imam Abu Abdillah Muhammad bin Yazid, is best known as Ibn Maja. He is famed for his Hadith collection ‘Sunan.’ In which he has well over four thousand Hadith narrations. Although not all of the narrations are authentic, it is still one of the most highly regarded Hadith collections in the Sunni tradition. It is one of the ‘six books,’ (al-Kutub al-Sita).
He was about 64 years old when he passed away (209 – 273H). He narrated from the great Imam of Hadith, Abu Bakr bin Abi Shaybah as well as other great Imams of his era.
