Imam Abdullah bin Ahmad bin Mahmood al-Nasafi is best known for his Matn in Hanafi Fiqh, Kanz al-Daqaiq. This book is not only valuable in itself, but some of the most important Fiqh works in the Hanafi Madhab are commentaries upon it.

He also has a foundational work in Usool al-Fiqh, al-Manar. Once again this work by Imam al-Nasafi has numerous commentaries. And once again they are some of the more important works in the field.

He is not to be confused with Imam Abu Hafs al-Nasafi. Although there is a gap of over 150 years between the two, people do confuse them. Both are known as al-Nasafi and both have renowned works in Aqeedah. However, the famous commentary of Imam al-Taftazaani is on the work of Abu Hafs.

Imam Abu al-Barakaat al-Nasafi also wrote a Tafseer of the Holy Quran and passed away in 710 Hijri.
