Imam Abdulllah bin Alawi al-Haddad was born in Hadramout (Yemen) 1044H and was blessed with a long life, eventually passing in 1132 Hijri.
In recent times many of his works have been translated into the English language. These works focus primarily upon Islamic spirituality. His litanies (Awrad) have also become more widespread, especially Ratib al-Hadad (al-ratib al-shahir) and the Wird al-Latif.
