Abu al-Husayn Ahmad bin Muhammad al-Quduri, was born in Baghdad, 362 (Hijri). He is best known for his work ‘al-Mukhtasar.’ The work is used as a primer (Matn) in Madrasahs across the Muslim world.
The Imam also authored al-Tajreed. In which he compared the Hanafi and Shafi Madhab. He analysed the proof provided by both for the legal rulings they adopted. He passed away in 428 Hijri and is considered to be a relatively early Imam of the Madhab.
